Hunger Relief International. This is a non-profit organization that I believe in. I have spent countless hours volunteering over the last year doing paper work and many other things. I have see the progress that has happened with the donations that come in and the improvements in the orphanages in both Guatemala and Haiti. There is opportunity to donate to this wonderful work of feeding hungry children and placing them in an education system so they can better their lives. You can also arrange to go on mission trips with the team or with a church if you would like. I would love to go and visit both country's to see first hand the wonderful work that is taking place. My Photography
In the Fall of 2011 I was "playing" with my mom's Nikon D80 and took some pictures just for fun. I didn't think they would turn out that great, but turns out I was wrong. I have a natural tallent for taking pictures aparently. One of my favorites is this one of Cody, a Blue Heeler. He is a sweet dog and will follow me around everywhere. I love him to death. It took a ton of shots to get a good one of him because he kept moving or looking down but I got this one out of all that and was quite impressed. I have a facebook page specifically for my photography. It is called Angel Light Photography. You can click on the link under the picture to go to the facebook fan page.
Crochet Mug Sleeve
This was one of the many projects I made in 2011 for Christmas presents for my family. Basically do a chain stitch which goes from the top of the mug to the bottom of the mug. Then double crochet until it's long enough to wrap all the way around. I did crochet "hooks" of 8-10 chain stitches which go around the top and bottom parts of the each spot where the handle connects to the cup to fasten the sleeve closed around the mug. This only took me about an hour to whip up and the buttons were put on using the same color yarn.
New To Blogging
Hello :) I am new to blogging so it might take me a bit to get this all figured out, but I'm very excited about it. I have wanted to start a blog for awhile now but haven't taken the time to get it going. I am a very crafty person. I love to create things and design clothes. I like taking something I have and redoing it into something better or cuter than it was before. I want to use this blog to post my completed craft projects, small advice from life experiences, food recipes, skin care tips, and anything else I can think of! Until the next post, Helen.
